Mercyhealth Welcomes Gastroenterologist

CRYSTAL LAKE, Illinois—Mercyhealth is pleased to welcome Shahid Ilahi, MD, board certified gastroenterologist, to Mercyhealth Hospital and Physician Clinic–Crystal Lake.
Dr. Ilahi believes the patient experience is one of the most important things in health care. “I treat and care for my patients with respect and dignity,” he said. “Patient satisfaction is my number one goal, so I strive to do everything I can to accomplish that.”

After earning his medical degree at Dow Medical College, Pakistan, Dr. Ilahi served an internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at Cook County Hospital, Chicago. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with added qualifications in gastroenterology. Dr. Ilahi’s special interests include:

• Treatment of pathological and functional disorders of gastrointestinal conditions
• Evaluation and treatment of hepatobiliary diseases
• Endoscopic evaluations, including EGD and colonoscopy
