Cary Park District Announces Summer Concert Lineup

CARY PARK DISTRICT ANNOUNCES SUMMER CONCERT LINEUP
Cary, Illinois – Wind down a hot and busy summer day with an evening in the park
enjoying soulful songs, rock favorites and local talent with family and friends.

Cary Park District’s Summer Concerts in the Park Series offers a wide variety of musical
genres in its 2018 lineup including pop, country, rock and roll hits and oldies. All
concerts are held Thursdays beginning at 7:00 pm at the Lions Park Bandshell and are
free to the public.

First up on June 14, Whiskeyfist takes the stage with their country/rock mix of today
and yesterday’s hottest country hits, and southern and classic rock music. Enjoy
familiar selections performed by the six-member band whose stage presence is
geared toward high-energy performances and audience participation.

Next, on June 21, Sway Chicago features top 40 hits through the decades spanning
from 1940s swing, 50s rock and roll, Motown and current top 40 hits. Bring your
dancing shoes and take a spin in the fresh air on the grassy dance floor! This concert is
sponsored by the Cary Park Foundation.

On July 5, celebrate Independence Day with the high energy party sounds of Spoken
Four. Listen to party covers from the 60s through to today’s top 40, from the Jackson 5

to Maroon 5. Their selections include tons of mash-ups and non-stop excitement for
the entire family.

July 12, Rock around the clock with The Stingrays as they perform the greatest rock
and roll hits of the 50s, 60s, and 70s ever written. Their line up includes the Twist,
Conga, swing, stroll and more. Sing along to your favorites or try your luck at the
band’s rock and roll trivia quiz.

July 19, welcome local talent to the stage as the 2018 Teen Battle of the Bands
winners perform for your entertainment.
