[Algonquin, 8/12/25] The Cary-Grove Area Chamber of Commerce and the Algonquin/Lake In The Hills Chamber of Commerce were proud to co-host a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating Goldfish Swim School, located at 718 S. Randall Rd., #6 in Algonquin, now under the new ownership of Alex Tyler.

Goldfish Swim School in Algonquin provides indoor, year-round swim instruction to children ages 4 months to 12 years-old in a safe, fun and family-friendly setting with highly trained instructors, small class sizes (max 4:1 student to teacher ratio), a shiver-free 90-degree pool, and a state-of-the-art water purification system. Goldfish offers convenient scheduling options and families can easily book makeup classes when necessary.

In addition to swim lessons, Goldfish Swim School offers frequent family swims and party packages for their members. Facility highlights include an air-conditioned viewing gallery for parents to watch lessons, warm showers, individual/private changing rooms, hair drying station, snack bar, retail shop and warm, tropical décor.

With a proven curriculum, state-of-the-art facility, four to one student to teacher ratio, and Ellis & Associates Certified Lifeguards on deck at all times, Goldfish Swim School is the premier learn-to-swim program for Algonquin-area families.

New owner Alex Tyler brings both personal and professional passion to the school. “My history with Goldfish Swim School dates back nearly two decades to my days growing up in Birmingham, MI near the original Goldfish Swim School location. I began swimming competitively at the age of three and went on to swim at Northwestern University. In 2013, I opened my first Goldfish Swim School in St. Charles, IL and added a second location in Glen Ellyn, IL four years later. My team is currently opening three Goldfish Swim School locations in the Portland, OR area. I am proud to note that all of these Goldfish Swim School locations have been thriving and we are excited to bring our incredible management team to Goldfish Swim School Algonquin.”
