FALL PREVENTION & BALANCE SCREENING

Description

Falls are the leading cause of accidental death and serious injuries in adults over 60. Smith Physical Therapy+ is here to help combat this issue with our Balance Screening Day, designed to identify individuals at high risk of falls—especially those who may not yet realize they have balance concerns.

Participants will be scheduled in 15-minute increments and will go through a series of balance assessments. Exam fee is $20, with portion donated to VeDA (The Vestibular Disorders Association)

We’ll also conduct a verbal review of factors that contribute to fall risk, including vision deficits, neuropathy, sleep habits, home hazards, work hazards and prescription medications. Based on the results, participants will receive personalized recommendations on next steps, whether that be follow-up with their physician, physical therapy, or a vision exam.
